Alamo Volleyball Association
About
Alamo Volleyball Association was founded in 1983 by Gool Castleberry to give high school athletes who were interested in playing at the college level an opportunity to excel and to receive exposure for their volleyball skills. Over the years, Alamo has emerged as the premiere junior volleyball program in South Texas and is regarded as a model for emerging clubs throughout the state. Along with developing volleyball talent, our program stresses the importance of personal discipline, leadership, organizational skills, and character building. Alamo players participate in USA Volleyball junior competition at the state and national level. This competition has resulted in Alamo Volleyball teams being selected to participate in the USA Volleyball Junior National Championships every year since Alamo was founded. Over 98% of our graduating seniors have gone on to play volleyball at the collegiate level.
The Alamo coaching staff is considered outstanding, with the majority of our coaches serving as volleyball coaches at the middle school, high school and college level. Alamo Director is Mike Carter, who is heavily decorated through his High School and Club coaching careers.
