About

Welcome to Blue Crab Volleyball

Blue Crab Volleyball (BC) is a registered junior program affiliate of USA Volleyball. Our main purpose is to provide quality training and competitive opportunities for young athletes at all levels of development. This competitive athletic experience will enhance social development, contribute to mental and physical health, and teach the values of teamwork, responsibility, self-discipline, and self-motivation. As we seek to promote and develop youth volleyball in the New Orleans area, we focus on our players’ interests and enthusiasm, as well as, their volleyball skills and athletic abilities. Our mission is to promote youth volleyball at all age and skill levels.

Commitment to Blue Crab Volleyball:

Playing volleyball for Blue Crab requires a strong commitment to the game and teammates. We expect all players and parents to read this website along with policies, rules, etc. in its entirety. Participation in Blue Crab requires much time and effort. We are committed to the work ethic and the rewards it can reap, not just in volleyball but in life as well.

About Our Local Program:

Established by Don Landry in 1998, the purpose of the Blue Crab local program is to provide a less expensive club volleyball experience. The format for our local program is simple. We provide a minimum of three hours of skills work two to three nights per week. We will begin with a parent meeting sometime in November. At this early meeting we will talk about the local tournament schedule, pertinent club topics, and answer any question you might have about our local program.

Goals of Blue Crab Volleyball:

  1. The athlete will develop a positive attitude toward the club, teammates, authorities, winning, and losing.
  2. To teach the athlete that winning is learning how to set realistic goals and to strive to achieve these goals both in practice and in competition.
  3. To teach the athlete respect for themselves and teammates in regards to their potential ability as well as achieved abilities.
  4. To teach the athlete that great teams must overcome adversity and that where there is adversity, there is opportunity.
