About Us
El Paso Sol Volleyball Club was established in 2014. The name, “Sol” was chosen for two reasons. The first reason was that El Paso Sol was El Paso’s first co-Ed pro-volleyball team in 1975 that went on to become national champions. The second reason was that, prior to being known as El Paso Sol, the club was known as El Paso Heat. Our name was eventually altered to represent our borderland demographics, while still maintaining the theme of heat. Within four years of having an 18s team, 13 of our seniors have had college offers to play volleyball and half of these players accepted full-ride scholarships.
MISSION
Teach our athletes that they can achieve great success through hard work, dedication, and teamwork. We have assembled an outstanding staff with experience and training to teach sound fundamentals and empowering skills/technique development. The staff evokes positive, never-quit attitude that is consistently emphasized at Sol.
GOAL
Above all; that our student athletes excel on and off the court.
Instruct players on the rules and protocols of the game while coaching every position effectively and cohesively within multiple rotations/substitutions. We will strive to perfect our process to ensure that our players always demonstrate an intellect and competitiveness.
PHILOSOPHY
Student Athletes can not excel by being spectators. We collectively access and assign players to a team where they can develop as an active player. Play everyone as much as possible; when possible.
HISTORY OF SUCCESS
Our Director is wiling to coordinate with staff and assist those athletes with goals of competing at the collegiate level. He is a great resource to help familiarize yourself with the process (build), protocols and requirements.
We have experienced staff of former players and or who are parents of collegiate student athletes.
