About

Our Mission

This mission of G-Force Volleyball Club is to create a fun environment where players learn how to work as part of a team and are challenged to compete at a level outside of their comfort zone. TRAIN UGLY!

Our Philosophy

The philosophy is simple.  "Practice like you've never won, play like you've never lost".

We train ugly, practice hard, and play to win recognizing that mistakes are part of the learning process.  We want to teach athletes how to play volleyball while also becoming better people.  That starts with integrity, commitment, focus, drive, teamwork and a lot of heart.  We want them to learn what it feels like to accomplish goals and understand the work that needs to be put in to reach them,  and also show them they can do more than they ever thought possible.  It's not all about winning, it's about learning to compete and the journey to get there.   The journey is the best part of the process of learning.  Teaching kids how to overcome and break through their fears is the most rewarding mission of G-Force and its coaches.

History

G-Force Volleyball Club was started by Diane & Bill Harrod in 1997 with the goal to provide quality instruction to youth volleyball players.  They are both still coaching for G-Force 20 years later and continue what they started.  At the time, club volleyball was just beginning so the number of clubs in Badger Region were less than today.  However, by providing quality coaching, G-Force teams were able to compete at a high level.  In 2001, Diane & Bill gave the club to Tim Janzen and he operated the club until July 2017.  During this time, the popularity of club volleyball increased, and the number of clubs and teams expanded but the philosophy of providing quality coaching continued to lead G-Force to have successful, competitive teams.  In July 2017, Jessica Jacklin and Kevin Hedinger assumed the responsibility for the operation of the club.

Although this is our first season operating the club we have both coached volleyball at G-Force and understand the philosophy of our predecessors.  We embrace the challenge to continue the tradition that started 20 years ago and look forward to the journey.
